Eric Meeker Art & Design

Eric Meeker lives in upstate New York where he operates a studio storefront in downtown Troy, with his partner Jessica Green, who is a weaver and shepherdess. Meeker began working with glass at Penland School of Crafts in 2013. He continued his studies at the School for American Crafts at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Although specializing in glass blowing, he employs many other techniques to attain both his sculptural and design aesthetic. His sculptural work is based on his minds interpretation of the stories, people and places in his life. They are distilled and represented as images, sounds, movements, lights and colors. Meeker also creates functional work that is inspired by turn of the century Fenno-Scandinavian designers and informed by the design aesthetics imparted on him by his graphic designer father.
